In our house, we care just as much about the food as the drinks! It’s such an important part of the celebration, but usually most of the planning and prep time goes to the meal. This drink menu has something for everyone, including those that steer clear of alcohol. We have options that won’t make them feel like they’re being left out of the party. Special thanks to my husband for helping me put this menu together!
THANKSGIVING BAR MENU
Pre-Dinner
We recommend greeting guests at the door with a glass of champagne! It sets the mood and will get everyone in the holiday spirit.
- Champagne:
- Domaine Carneros (where we got engaged!) for a good $20-30 bottle and Taittanger or Dom Perignon if you want to bring out the $$$ good stuff!
- Serve in: A fancy champagne glass.

- Cocktails:
- Spiked Apple cider – We love this Food Network recipe. You can make a big bowl and have people serve themselves.
- Gin & Tonic – We like Nordes gin with Fever Tree tonic water. If you know anyone traveling to Spain, beg them to bring a bottle of Nordes back for you!
- Non-alcoholic options:
- Tost Champagne – Delicious sparkling beverage of white tea, white cranberry and ginger.
- Distilled Botanicals & Tonic – We love Seedlip Non-Alcoholic Spirit, Spice 94 with Fever Tree tonic water. Tastes just like a gin & tonic. This is also the perfect drink for people that are craving another drink late at night, but really shouldn’t! You won’t even know there is no alcohol in it!
During Dinner
Put out your wine bottles directly on the table, so people won’t be shy about re-filling their glasses.
- White Wine
- Chablis or Napa Chardonnay. We recommend William Fevre Chablis or Chalk Hill Chardonnay.
- Serve in: A white wine glass. Our favorite is Riedel (this Veritas Chardonnay glass is heaven to drink from!) but for a large group you might want something less expensive. Schott Zwiesel is still amazing quality but a little more affordable.
- Chablis or Napa Chardonnay. We recommend William Fevre Chablis or Chalk Hill Chardonnay.
- Red Wine:
- Pinot Noir. We recommend Joseph Drouhin or Williams Selyem.
- Serve in: A pinot glass. Our favorite is Riedel (we love drinking out of these and the shape is so pretty!) but for a large group we recommend these from Schott Zwiesel.
- Pinot Noir. We recommend Joseph Drouhin or Williams Selyem.
- Beer:
- For those folks that don’t love wine. We recommend a light & crisp option like Pilsner Urquell or a black lager like Kostritzer.
- Non-alcoholic option:
- Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher – 0% alcohol and 0 calories! It’s basically hops flavored LaCroix. So delicious.
Post-Dinner
Put out a bottle of port and a bottle of bourbon on the table with glassware and let guests help themselves to a delicious after dinner drink. This is often our guests favorite part of the evening!
- Port
- We love Grahams. (10-20 year for an everyday option and 30-40 year for something more special). It’s easy to find and delicious. We visited their facility when we visited Porto.
- Serve in: a port glass or you can use a wine or brandy glass. We don’t have port glasses yet, so we use these pretty brandy glasses instead!

- Bourbon
- I’m not a bourbon drinker, but my husband is! He loves Noah’s Mill.
- Non-alcoholic option:
- Coffee & tea
- Serve in: a porcelain mug. I absolutely love the set we got for our wedding that match our Pillivuyt Eclectique dishes. Coffee and tea just taste so much better when you drink it in these!
