Decorating for fall was so fun this year. We actually were able to get everything up at the end of September so we’ve had a long time to enjoy it as opposed to other years when we delayed. My favorite spot to decorate is the fireplace area. It’s such a gorgeous backdrop that you really can’t go wrong with anything you put there.
This year I filled the lanterns with real pumpkins and gourds instead of the usual pillar candles, and I think it’s cute. They are already rotting though, so I’m going to return to candles through Christmas.
We are part of a monthly supper club with 4 couples. Each month one of the couples hosts dinner and makes all of the dishes – apps, main course, and dessert and does all the of the cleanup! It’s a lot of work but so fun to do everything start to finish and then get to take the next 3 off and eat delicious meals with friends.
Last month we changed things up and hosted brunch instead. With everyone coming over, that really motivated me to get my fall decor in full swing. I created this tablescape mainly with real pumpkins and dried corn. I wanted to centerpiece to be really full and bountiful. I think I used around ~25 real pumpkins and a bunch of small pumpkin vase filler.
I love the way it turned out! The pumpkins only lasted for 4 weeks so I had to toss them all now. I am working on a new tablescape design for Thanksgiving since we are hosting this year. Check back later this week and I’ll be sharing it on the blog!
